THE BLUE FLAG 2000 - 2001

This is a special award given by the FEEE (Foundation for Environmental Education in Europe) for the Communes which have specific qualifications as for tourism and environment. 

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A COMMUNE AWARDED THE “BLUE FLAG”?

It means facing constantly these conditions:

•       perfect safe bathing

•       posting the results of water analysis

•       bathing establishments with professional safe-guards staff

•       efficency of the city depurating system

•       good city sewer system

•       selection and differentiated gathering of waste products

•       wide pedestrian sites

•       control and restriction of the traffic

•       courses and lessons about environment

•       facilities for disabled people

•       accuracy in keeping the town clean

Numana lies along the marches coast, nestling on the southern slope of the promontory of the Mount Conero, peak of the omonimous Regional Park.
